Kitchen

The kitchen is a place where there tends to be spillages etc so it makes sense to choose a floor that is water resistant and which can be cleaned easily.  Many people will choose tiles for their kitchen or they will go for linoleum.  These two options are good for this area as they are easy to maintain and spills will not stain.  If you wanted to go for a wooden floor in this room then you would be wise to choose engineered flooring instead of hardwood flooring as it is more moisture resistant.

Living Room

A lot of people these days are choosing to have wooden flooring in the living room as opposed to carpets because they look great and are easy to keep clean.  Natural hardwood flooring is very popular because of its beauty but it can be tricky to install and it is quite expensive.  If you want something that will look just as good and is cheaper and easy to install then engineered flooring is the best bet.

Because the bathroom is a place that would tend to be quite damp, it is wise to go for something moisture resistant such as tiles or vinyl.  A wooden floor in a bathroom would not be advisable as it could warp and bubble from the moisture in the air.
